Laser Resurfacing Intervention For Advanced Aging of The Skin

Well, let's face it, aging, sun exposure, and maybe a few bad habits have taken their toll on your skin.  You see sagging skin, wrinkles that are always there and maybe even brown spots and fine red blood vessels as well. 

If we were to look at a biopsy of your skin we would see that your elastic tissue has been replaced by a change called solar elastosis.  What this means is that the elastic tissue is cracked and thickened.  We would also see a decrease in the amount of collagen present, thinning of the epidermis or outer layer of the skin so there is less protection from the environment and the glandular structures are diminished.

All of these factors combine to make the skin feel and look leathery and weathered.  If you have been a smoker, all of these changes are accelerated and occur earlier in life.

Well, when this degree of aging and sun-damage is present, an intervention is required.

Full-face or regional laser resurfacing is required to reverse these changes as much as possible.  By combining the laser treatment with potent skin care rejuvenation products major improvement can be obtained.

Due to the depth of treatment anesthesia can be required, and the healing time can take up to several weeks or even longer.
